If you are in need of dependable, low cost transportation, or if you need a van with a handicap lift, we may be able to assist you. Guidelines are below:


Who Qualifies?

Elderly persons and persons with disabilities within the existing transit service areas of the County of Cheboygan.

Services are provided to the following destinations only:


What Medical Centers are included?

All Medical Centers in Cheboygan, Indian River, and Wolverine cities.


Procedures:

  1. Rider must be ready 15 minutes prior to scheduled pickup time.
  2. Rider must call for service 2 working days in advance by calling the nearest senior center (phone numbers listed above).
  3. If you must cancel your trip, notify the center as soon as possible.
  4. Drivers are not allowed to handle bus fare or accept tips. Bus fare must be placed in fare box. Do not give money to the driver.
  5. Service is door-to-door. Driver will not enter homes or appointments for transportation. Escorts are available for those in need of further assistance. You will need to request an escort when you call for a pick up.
  6. When riding, plan to do only what you have previously arranged. Driver will not alter the schedule.
  7. Buses will not be used for emergencies, (call 911), nor can they pick up or deliver your medications.
  8. No smoking is allowed on the buses.
  9. Driveway must be free of branches, obstacles, and debris (snow and ice in winter).
  10. A $2.00 suggested donation is requested for each one-way trip for elderly persons and persons with disabilities.


How do I make arrangements?

Arrangements must be made 2 working days in advance.

Sunday-Tuesday and Thursday
Pick up between 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Return time approximately 2:00 pm

K-Mart and Wal-Mart Shopping Schedule
For shopping at these stores, call the Cheboygan Senior Center at (231) 627-7234

Cheboygan Residents
Pick up at home is between 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Pick up from store is approximately 12:30 pm


Escorts are available. Bus is .00 for regular fare (must have exact change).
